2nd Graders Clear Their Beds for Planting an Ancestor Garden November 8, 2013

Second Graders began clearing the weeds out of their garden beds and loosening the soil in preparation for planting seeds. They learned the proper ways to use garden tools such as shovels and hoes — skills most children these days don’t have too many opportunities to learn! Working safely in the garden means even learning how to carry a shovel properly so that no one gets hurt and plants don’t get damaged. After hard work by all three classes, the garden beds have been weeded, organic fertilizer and compost have been added, and we are ready to plant our Ancestor GardensImageImageImage
