Mrs. Hawke’s and Ms. Schultz’s classes harvested radishes and lettuce on January 9. Jesse Brown, Tien’s dad, helped the classes prepare the food for eating. After harvesting different types of greens, including romaine lettuce, red leaf lettuce, arugula and chickory, as well as monster-sized radishes, students chopped the radishes into tiny pieces with plastic knives and mixed them with cream cheese to make a dip to eat on crackers. They ate the greens in salad with ranch dressing. They even had enough produce to take some home for their families!
